What is the best way to cook morning star crumbles?
I wanted to know the best way to prepare morning star crumbles I have been looking through old answers and everyone suggests browning the crumbles with onion and garlic and them adding to your dish. I am confused by this because in my experience if you cook these products and add them to spaghetti sauce or chili the crumbles with swell up and take on an unpleasant squishy texture. I thought that if I was making spaghetti I would want to throw them in during the last bit of simmering just long enough to heat them so they don’t swell too much. Which is the best way to prepare this product to get a firmer texture comparable to ground beef?
