Movie help please ten points to correct answer?

Its either a movie from the seventies or eighties. i remember it from when i was younger. its a scary movie. i think at the end the monster or villan or whoever it was fell on top of the hood of a car that a couple was in or soemthing. and i think it took place in a big house. anyone know what movie im talking about. i know this wasnt much info thanks
