Can I use a pport to get into bars?

So I am 20 years old and I have my brothers pport and he is 26 years old. My boyfriend is 24 and we are going out the bars tonight. I look like my brother and I have his pport on me. I was wondering what do they actually look at when the bouncers see the ID... date of birth? picture? or both? And do they accept this sort of identification?
